THE POWER_ Book review by BETSY GEORGE CHENCHERIL (5004)

‘THE POWER’ is a motivational book written by RHONDA BYRNE. She is an Australian television writer and producer, best known for her book ‘The Secret’ which is based on a film which she produced in the same name.
I came to know about this book from my roommate, who always read the book during her difficult times.  I wondered what is so special about this book that each time after reading it, I could see a smile in her face which showed that all her pains are gone. Out of curiosity I also started reading the book and I must say it changed me a lot.
THE POWER is a book in which the writer tries to make her readers realise ‘the power’ inside them. The book begins with the following line:
“YOU ARE MEANT TO HAVE AN AMAZING LIFE’’.
This sentence itself drags the reader into the book. Byrne, through her magical words, tries to unveil the power in human beings _’LOVE’. As we pass through each line of the book some sort of energy comes into us. The writer creates a psychological revolution within the minds of the readers.
In the book, Byrne first discusses about the ultimate power, the love. She clearly explains the various dimensions of love and explains how love can change peoples’ life. Then the writer goes on describing about law of attraction, positive and negative feelings, feeling frequencies, relation between the power and creation, different keys to power and so on.
The book is compiled in such a way that a reader is forced to think about each and every concept in detail in light of his/her own past experiences. The writer uses simple language with lots of supporting quotations which helps all type of readers to connect with the book and the concepts discussed in it. She is trying to provide joy to millions through her book. The only drawback I could figure out was that the writer gives no evidence for the facts that she establishes. She rather tries to strengthen it with quotations of eminent personalities. But when we think about the positive impact created by her book, this drawback seems to be irrelevant.
In my opinion this book is a good medicine for those who lack motivation in their life. It will help you to discover a different dimension for each and every happening in your life. As for me it helped me to realise that it is my feelings that makes things good and bad for me. If I think positive I will receive back positive events and circumstances and vice versa. After completing the book I realised that I am meant to have everything I love and desire. I am meant to be happy and contented throughout my life. I discovered something incredible about myself, my life and the universe.

For me this book was like a streak of light which led me out of darkness, filled my life with colours and help me realise the greatest power in me which would help me to achieve all that I aspire for. It taught me that life is so much easier than I thought it is and I became aware of the magic of life. I would strongly recommend it to all the ones who are struggling to live their lives. This amazing book will help them simplify every difficulty in their work, relation and life. Towards the end of the book the writer says “May the Power bring you Love and Joy for your Existence”, and this is what the writer does through her book. According to me this book is truly a motivational spark.
